A little late to the party

We are a little late to the party, but we have finally joined Twitter and we are crossing our fingers hoping we will get at least 10 followers!  Yup, we have ambitious goals here at ArtHead Studio 🙂  Wanna make us feel good?  Follow us @ArtHeadStudio and tell all your friends.  If we get 25 followers we will pick one of the first 25 followers to receive a special gift from ArtHead Studio.

And over on Facebook, with a nudge from Suzanne Tanner of Tanner Glass, today we added a Shop Now tab so you see all that we have for sale in our Etsy shop.

So let’s get social together.

Bears With Matches

Today’s post is brought to you by the number 140.

When you say “9 out of 10 forest fires are caused by humans” all I hear is “there’s a bear out there who knows how to use matches.”

Each tweet is 140 characters or less and I try to ferret out the best of them and reinvent them as reTweets.  When I am at shows people often ask me where I get all my “crazy ideas”.  I explained the genesis of reTweets here.

If you have been jonesin’ for a reTweet you are in luck.  Today reTweets were added to our Etsy shop.  Coming soon…The Odd World of The Littles.

Keep your eye on our Etsy store for 11 new Littles to be posted in the next week.

Have you written or seen any great Tweets lately?  Any that would make a great reTweet?

Twitter Turns 6 and we are counting characters

140 characters to be exact (the maximum number of characters allowed in a Tweet.)   Twitter just turned 6.  Happy Birthday Twitter!

As mentioned here, reTweets are something new this year.  I truly enjoy searching for the Tweets to use in the reTweets because every now and again I find a gem.  140 characters of cleverness and humor.  For example:

You can check out all the new reTweets on our Facebook page in the reTweets photo album.

If you get a chance to come to CraftBoston at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston, come see us in Booth 240.  And if you are feeling lucky participate in CraftBoston’s 2012 Spring Raffle  — one of the ten pieces being raffled is from ArtHead Studio.  We mentioned it here and talked about the inspiration for The Odd World of The Littles.

This is going on your permanent record

Yesterday I revealed my obsession with all things little.

In addition to The Odd World of the Littles, 2012 brings with it another new body of work titled reTweets.

Last year the Library of Congress announced that it was going to archive all Tweets.  Yup, you read that right.  Remember when you were a child and you heard those familiar words “This is going on your permanent record.”?  Well it now appears that your 140 characters really are going to be on your permanent record.

I do not personally have a Twitter account, but was somewhat intrigued by the decision to save all Tweets.  Who cares that someone had a ham sandwich for lunch?  So many Tweets are useless drivel that, in my opinion, don’t warrant being archived.  I decided that there must be some gems in and amongst all the drivel.  As I began to search for interesting Tweets, I found that there are some really clever people out there.  People who were able to convey an idea with humor in 140 characters or less.  I wanted to archive clever Tweets in my own way.  And thus came reTweets.
