Opening Night Jitters or how to be in two places at one time.

Holiday season is in full swing! Activity in the studio has been at an all time high preparing for two upcoming shows and opening night receptions.

Opening Night Shows

The Society of Arts and Crafts is doing something new this year at the opening reception for CraftBoston Holiday to be held at the Hynes Convention Center on Thursday, December 4 from 6-9 PM.

CraftBoston HOLIDAY

Holidays and Highballs is the opening night event where you will select a handmade tumbler from an array of styles and materials to use and take home at the end of the evening. You are then invited to stop by the CraftBoston Bar to fill your new piece with a retro-inspired highball cocktail. Sip, schmooze, and shop to the sounds of classic 45s as you preview the newest and finest contemporary craft by over 175 artists.

Holidays & Highballs

And here’s the part about being in two places at one time… The opening night reception for the Foundry Artists Annual Holiday show is also Thursday, December 4 from 5-9 PM.

There will be refreshments and live holiday music from John Juxo and Otis Read.

Foundry Show

Once again they will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Rhode Island Food Bank, so bring a can or two and share the holiday spirit!

2014 Foundry Show

Start making your holiday shopping list and be sure to stop by both CraftBoston Holiday and the Foundry Artists Holiday Show to support artists and buy handmade.

ArtHead Studio launched a brand new website today!

It’s been a long time in the making…and today we launched our new website at www.artheadstudio.com.

Check it out and let us know what you think.

We have also updated the branding on our Google+ page, Pinterest page and Facebook page.

If  you see us at a show, you will also notice that we have new business cards that go along with the new website look.

Want a virtual tour of the ArtHead Studio show booth?

Last night’s opening of the annual Foundry Artists Holiday Show was a roaring success. Lots of people showed up and judging by the activity at the checkout booth – opening night gets a big thumbs up. The show looks really great. If you are in the Providence, RI area this weekend or next check out the show. You are sure to find some great gifts and maybe a little something for yourself too.

Edward Huff’s blog post on December 1 included several panoramic views of the show – one of which features the ArtHead Studio booth.

All stocked up

As we enter the busy holiday season I find myself spending all my time in the studio making JunkYard Dogs, BabyBots, JunkHeads and more.

Until last Saturday when we were hit with that insane Nor’easter. We were without power, heat and water for 5 days. So I lost 5 days in the studio…time spent sitting in front of the fireplace with layers and layers of clothes on trying to stay warm. Yesterday the power came back on and we are once again up and running.

With power we were able to stock our Etsy store with a suite of new reBuckles, a dog pound full of JunkYard dogs, BabyBots and JunkHeads. We will continue to add things to the store as they are crafted.

It’s never too early to start scouting for fun holiday gifts. This weekend we will drop off work to be included in the DeCordova Museum’s 2011 Annual Artists’ Market. The Artists’ Market is worth checking out and while you are there check out the museum and the grounds, they are spectacular.

Buckle Up For The Holidays!

Buckle up in style this season with one of our reBuckles.

Black and white reBuckle

We will have a collection of reBuckles at both of the shows we are doing this weekend.
*  28th Annual Foundry Artists Gala Holiday Sale at the Pawtucket Armory in Pawtucket, RI (Dec 10-12)
*  CraftBoston Holiday at the Cyclorama in Boston, MA (Dec 11-12)

There are reBuckles to fit all styles…whether you wear only black and white, lots of color and even one for that person who just loves cars. reBuckles were inspired by our friend Nancy who has a fantastic belt buckle collection. Special thanks go out to Nancy for coming up with the idea for the car reBuckle.

All reBuckles fit on a 1 1/2″ belt.

Happy Holidays from ArtHead Studio

With only one more weekend of shows* to go we are looking forward to wrapping things up and celebrating the holidays.

What better time than now to wish everyone Happy Holidays and to thank everyone for all the great support over the past year. We’ve had fun travelling around the country and meeting lots of interesting people.

We look forward to another successful year in 2011 — after a little break of course 😉

We leave you with this year’s Holiday Card.
