What are these sassy little junkers?
The boxes are part of what was known during the 1930’s as a “budget bank”. This popular depression era savings system was designed to help people save money for different monthly bills. Each box was used to collect money for things like rent, food, charity, etc.
I have transformed these savings soldiers into kinetic sculptures with a little attitude. It’s my version of budget reform.
